  AN EVENING WITH DENNIS MCKENNA AND ROBERT BARNHART
              

Join us on Wednesday October 3 for a special evening with two leading
spokesmen in Psychedelics; Dr. Dennis McKenna and Robert Barnhart, bothmembers of the renown Heffter Institute Dennis and Robert will start of the evening with a short conversation on the changing cultural mores of Psychedelics and then a screening of their documentaries:
 
First, The Shaman and the Scientist, directed by Sarah Hutt staring Dennis McKenna explores the symbiotic relationship between the shaman and the indigenous plants in the Amazonian Rainforest and how these could useful in the treatment of mental illness. The second documentary A NEW UNDERSTANDING, directed by Robert chronicles the beneficial uses of Psilocybin on terminally ill patients and his success in having Psilocybin moved from a schedule 1 substance to schedule 2

Dennis McKenna

 

 Dr .Dennis McKenna

 

Dennis McKenna is an American ethno pharmacologist, research, and author. He is the brother of well-known Psychedelics proponent Terence McKenna and is a founding board member and the director of ethnopharmacology at the Heffter Research Institute, He received his doctorate in botanical sciences from the University of British Columbia,  He has authored numerous scientific articles and books-authored The Invisible Landscape with his brother Terence and his recently wrote The Brotherhood of the Screaming Abyss about his and his brother Terence's life and journeys together. Dennis has appeared on numerous talks shows and movies from Joe Rogan to DMT-The Spirit Molecule

 

Robert Barnhart

ROBERT BARNHART

Robert Barnhart has a BA in comparative religion from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. He has been a strong advocate for the study of psychoactive materials in spiritual and nontraditional healing practices for many years. He sits on the board of both The Heffter Research Institute and The Multi-Disciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies. Mr. Barnhart is active caring for the wellbeing of our planet's environmental ecosystem. Robert is also a producer for Huxley's Exit, and an associate producer for both Mantra, Sounds into Silence and the new documentary from Shock to Awe
